ABOUT

Anjum has an expressive and playful approach to her art practice combining mark making, patterning and gestural application of colour. Mindfulness is the foundation of her practice with each artwork evolving as a visceral embodiment of her connection to the Blue Mountains which provides an unending source of inspiration.
Anjum is an abstract landscape painter however more recently she has been experimenting with art installation textile works and printmaking related to her Indian heritage focusing on colour, pattern and texture.
Anjum’s artistic journey started in 2004 in which she spent time with an Indigenous community in Cape York connecting to the land and this has fuelled her curiosity ever since.
Anjum has had 5 solo exhibitions since 2020 with Penrith Regional Gallery, Blue Mountains Cultural Centre, Gang Gang Gallery, Braemar Gallery and Chrissie Cotter Gallery (in August 2026)
Anjum has also been part of several group show exhibitions and is part of a major international travelling show coming from London Design Museum in November 2026 which will be debuting at Liverpool Powerhouse.
